Hunt Engineering Services, Inc.

History

Hunt Engineering Services, Inc. first started in business as a service company whose sole focus was helping its customers move large-scale legacy systems to the World Wide Web. The customer base was made up primarily of federal and state customers.

HES quickly realized that the real value was building and selling products that would appeal to thousands of users. HES was able to leverage its knowledge of high-end database products built by the Oracle Corporation with the need for the government to move all of its computing requirements to the Web. To this end, HES developed its first product, a web menu system marketed under the name of EZ Portal. Although EZ Portal was a good product alone, HES discovered the EZ Portal was a great framework on which to build other products.

MAXImmediately following September11, 2001, HES used their EZ Portal application as the framework to create MAX Security Portal. Since then, HES has focused its attention on controlling access to government facilities utilizing Web technology. The first design for MAX was presented to the Air Force in November 2001 and the functional MAX system was completed in July 2002. MAX is now their signature product and has been in continuous use with the federal government since 2002.

Winner of Airforce Award 2003HES has been a part of Redstone Arsenal since 2004 when the Provost Marshal Office chose MAX as a part of their security solution. MAX went live in the badging office at Redstone Arsenal in July 2005 and has experienced 100% uptime (not counting scheduled maintenance) since its installation. The Visitor's Center opened at Gate 9 in January 2006 and MAX was an integral part of the new procedure for processing visitors to Redstone Arsenal. In addition, MAX can be found at NASA and other agencies located within Redstone Arsenal as part of their internal security protocols for employee badging and visitor control. Hunt Engineering is please and proud to be a part of the Redstone Arsenal Family!
